Childhood of Steve Jobs:
Steven Paul Jobs was born to a Syrian father who studied political science and an American mother, Joanne Carole Schieble, of Swiss descent. Joanne’s father threatened to disinherit her if she married a non-Catholic, prompting her to put Steve up for adoption. Paul Reinhold Jobs and Clara Jobs (née Hagopian), of Armenian origin, adopted Steve.
When Steve was two, the Jobs family adopted a daughter named Patty. They moved to Mountain View, California, following Paul’s job transfer to a laser manufacturing company in Palo Alto. Clara, an accountant, taught Steve to read before he started school. Due to school problems, Steve asked his parents to change schools, prompting a move to Los Altos.
